トーストマスターズというのを聞いたことがありますか？ウィキペディアによるとトーストマスターズはあなたのスピーキングとリーダーシップ能力を高めるお手伝いをするそうです。さらに、リスナーとしても成長できるとか。
私はリーダーシップスキルの必要性は感じていないのだけど、この会には二年前から興味を持っていました。そこで昨晩いよいよ覗いてみようと意を決し翌日の今朝行ってきました。
そこで見たものはウィキペディアで読んだ内容のそのまま、メンバーはプレゼンテーターへも他のメンバーへも、ポジティブ目線のコメント、次に向けた提案、そして、きっと出来るよという雰囲気。
会はユーモアに溢れていて楽しかったので来週もフリーで参加させてもらうことにしました。ジョークを一つ持参する予定です。ホームワークのようなものかな。
メンバーになる為の会費制度が難点ですが、もしかするとこれを読んだ方は、ジョークの持ち寄りが宿題だというのなら楽しくスキルアップできそうと思っているかもしれないと思ったりして。ちなみにトーストマスターズは日本や他の国にもあるようです。


Have you ever heard about Toastmasters? According to Wikipedia, Toastmasters International helps you improve your communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. You can also improve yourself as a good listener. Although it's not necessary for me to learn leadership skills, I've been curious about speaking skills for 2 years, so I decided to go to see the group last night and went to a meeting this morning.
What I saw in the meeting is that exactly what I've read in Wikipedia: they make nice comments, suggest nice ideas, and encourage speakers and members to be better. Since I had fun in the group, I decided to go there again, next week. I'll bring a joke to present, which is my independent topic.
One consideration is a payment in order to be a member, but I'm guessing that you might think that it might be fun for you too because you can bring your joke. I know this is an international group, so you can find it in your country even Japan.
